Mississippi Reflections, 9×12, oil on linen
We hope you enjoy this free full-length video of Shanna Kunz painting water reflections of a scene in Mississippi! Shanna will show how to create very strong sunlight using a ground, value contrast and color contrast to make a bright and sunny painting. She will demonstrate the creation of soft edges combined with the harder edge of a palette knife to direct the eye through the painting through the use of thick/thin paint, as well as show you the importance of painting the negative shapes in order to make the positive shapes more believable. Hi! Just wondering what surface you’re using. Looks like canvas glued onto something that resembles rigid insulation. LMK thank you!
I am using Claessens 66 single oil primed linen adhered to Gatorboard. It is my favorite surface! You can find a video in the site of how to make them. You can also buy them from RayMar, sourcetek and other brands. My husband makes them for me!
