Monthly Challenge: Complimentary Palette – Purple and Yellow
Our challenge to you is to use a complimentary palette of Yellow and Purple either in a landscape or a still life by using only a warm and cool yellow, a warm and cool violet, white and Burnt Umber. We learn so much by white and Burnt Umber. We learn so much by isolating a palette and exploring what the variation of values we can get from each color, then a combination of the colors. Lemons anyone? Lilacs or daffodils? How about these landscapes by Monet.
Let’s see what you can do! Post your paintings that you are working from either from life or reference in our Facebook Inspired to Paint Students page so we can all be inspired! We are so excited to see what you are doing!
