Preview: Painting a Warm Lit Still Life
In this month’s lesson preview I discuss the difference in painting a cool lit still life vs. a warm lit still life. Understanding light temperature is critical in learning how to balance the warms and cools in your paintings. The warm lit still life has a completely different feel to it as compared to a cool lit still life. Warm light gives us the feeling of intimacy, candle light, and quietness. I painted mine on a 14 x 18 C12 Linen Canvas that was toned first with Raw Umber and a bit of Neo Megilp and let dry for a day.
