Early in my art training I was studying under Mary Jo Leisure. Mary Jo is a Master Decorative Artist and has an incredible ability to create beautiful harmony and design in her paintings. One year at a seminar with Mary Jo, we were painting a large wooden plate full of roses and leaves. There must have been over a hundred leaves in the painting. Everyone was complaining about how many leaves there were. I had to laugh because I actually loved painting the leaves. If you are a flower lover and painter like me then you know you will probably paint thousands of leaves in your lifetime so I made this concept lesson on how to mix color and paint leaves. This was originally filmed for my past online course Learn Paint Grow.

Fabulous Liz! Lots of excellent information here. I especially liked the warm vs. cool color lesson that this imparts. Good stuff about playing the leaves down, so they don’t compete with the flowers. Thank you!
Glad you liked it Gary!
